About Lee-Ann
"Photography is the hardest mirror I’ve ever had to hold up to myself. Your work is a reflection of your state of mind and reveals that to the world. That kind of honest self observation takes a lot of courage. It takes a long time to peel back the layers of yourself and to show that to the world."

I am a visual storyteller and photographic artist from South Africa. My work is all about identity, collaboration and celebration. There is an overarching theme of celebration in my work and I am interested in using the medium as a mode of celebration and co-creation. With my long term collaborative projects I aim to create a space where the subjects can play an active part in the co-creation of their stories in order to create images they feel tell their stories in a way that is affirming and celebratory.
